I don't know. Maybe somebody forgot to tell the people responsible for that cover, that these rabbit are supposed to be real animals and not anthropomorphic animals?

My latest addition to my collections are sets of original 35mm film cells
from the movie.  Searched for years to finally find these and and they're
great!

If anyone else would like to see what these sets are like, you can view them
at the following site:

Welcome to the warren. :wave  35mm cels are cool, but they're often too pricey for me, that's why I don't invest in purchasing them.

I understand exactly what you mean..... Silliness on Ebay with people asking $25 for a
single 35mm film cell (and even some sillier people actually PAYING that) used to make
me want to slap some sense in people.

But a set of 50 different for $18.00 is a rational and reasonable price I think -- and
the quality and variety of the scenes in this set are great.

Thanks for the welcome!

I'd like to add on to this thread because I have added this to my list of WD merchandise:

Found a guy selling his for $29.00, shipping included on ebay (its a used set).  Couldn't pass up the chance at $9.00 a season for something that is not very common.  You can still buy the entire series apparently, so its kept the price down, and they sell a newer version of the boxset in Australia apparently.  Paying 50% of retail was something I couldn't pass up. :)

^ WUTTHE? :D Ah, jealousy. When you say "newer version" does this mean that American dvd players can read it? (*is prepared to :celebrate if so*) :P A while ago I was battling the idea of buying this as well as a british DVD player just so I could watch it without youtube aid. :p Great find.

^ Actually I jumped for joy a bit soon and read the pricing wrong, so I ended up paying more for it.  Oh well.  That's what you get for putting the blinders on and just jumping in.  I won't go broke, but that was a :doh moment on my part.

No, there are no boxsets for America (or Region 1 dvd players).  These newer versions are for Australia (Region 4).  What you can do with your computer in most cases is watch the DVD through VLC media player because it ignores region codes.  I can do this with my Aussie Watership Down and Plague Dogs dvds.  You can also strip the coding with DVD Decrypter if you choose to save the files to your harddrive.  You don't have to live with region codes anymore. They're outdated forms of control.

Well, I have the book, the old videocassette, a few dvd´s of the series, and most of the magazines. Not much Watership Down stuff sold in Germany...
The other day when I was walking through the woods, I saw a rabbit standing in front of a candle making shadows of people on a tree.

That's surprising.  I thought it was actually pretty popular in Germany.

I have none, unless you include a library that has the book, and the movie and TV series on youtube. :) It's a shame.

I was able to start really buying stuff when I started working.....so I would say if you don't have a job now, when you do get one you can put some of the earnings towards your own copies of the book and film. :)

It´s well known indeed, but I never saw much merchandise. The book and movie is too dark for their taste, and the series was only shown once in tv, years ago. It´s a shame^^
