The Cliches Thread
« on: February 06, 2019, 06:08:48 PM »
Because I'm such a sad individual, I thought this would make an interesting thread - if nothing else but to show just how many clichéd sayings exist. Thread also includes idioms, which aren't necessarily clichés. Basically sayings like 'beat around/about the bush' and 'wild horses couldn't drag me away'. If you want to be extra clever you can tell us what it means, where the saying came from, or put it in a sentence for us. Or don't - that's fine, too. :lol

Idioms, clichéd sayings, etc. allowed from other countries, too, as long as you give a translation!  :buttercup

EDIT: Sorry, didn't make it clear earlier, this is in the Games section because people can post the random sayings whenever they like, take in turns, whatever - it's not about having a massive discussion.

To start:

Beat about the bush

'Discuss a matter without coming to the point' - probably a tad guilty of this at times.

Boohoo - nobody has taken me up on this thread. ;__;

Here lies a signature that has little point.
