You make a lot of valid points Hammy.  I agree with most of what you say. Although, I kinda like Spartina.  Her feather is cute, and it's not like those other Darkhaveners who have like five of them.  Although I agree that she could have used better characterisation.

Well, let me extend that statement to all the Darkhaven rabbits. In fact, I would have liked a scene where Woundwort knocks off one of their weird headdresses and says something like, "Men wear other creatures on their heads, we'll not do the same."

That line was so funny :hannah4 You make a valid point though.
Anyway...

That entire scene really disturbs me...

Oh, yeah, I totally forgot about that scene. Eat him, Skree! Make yourself useful for once!

The main thing I hated about the series was the magic it took the realism away from the story and I think making the audience think that a dog killed him is a way better ending then throughing in some stupid magic just for the heck of it also silver weed turned old it would have been better if he died on screen

The way I see it, I wasn't really surprised or bothered by the ending because I could tell it was coming. From the get go, I knew this series was going to be just barely like the book, with all the watered down changes to the characters and plot, and I knew it was going to be rather lame in comparison. At the start of the third season, when the black rabbit showed up, I pretty much expected a cop-out ending.

This doesn't mean I don't like the series, though. I kinda just viewed it on its own merits and lowered my expectations. I wasn't expecting a riveting plot like the book, since the beginning was already nothing like it, so I just kinda went with the flow and didn't compare it to the book. It's still an enjoyable series on its own, but not as a faithful adaptation of the book. If you want something as gripping as the book, look elsewhere. But if you just want a decent, fun kids series, this show is good.

Side note: One of the last chapters of the book (the one told from the point of view of the humans rescuing Hazel) is ironically called 'Deus Ex Machina'
