German Radio Plays
« on: September 09, 2018, 09:10:59 PM »
Hey all. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find either of the two German audio plays from 1994 or 2006. These plays are a lot longer than the English ones, and I'm curious to know what they're like, and possibly translate them. I found an out of print CD of the 2006 one. Not sure if the 1994 one is floating around anywhere.

Nice to see you again @pushmipullu :)

I didn't even know these radio dramas existed...
The out of print CD might pop-up on German eBay every once in a while.  Could you provide some links to these sites where you learned about these two dramas?

Perhaps some of our German members would be able to provide more information about these.  @Leo-rah @Darkling Nocturnal

@pushmipullu

I found some YouTube videos.  I don't speak German, so I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for:

Also, an audiocassette of the 1994 play appears to be available here:

Thanks. I saw these earlier, but I think they're incomplete.

Shame on me, I didn't get to read this earlier, as I've been kind of inactive during the last half year. Thanks for mentioning me, Chipster, so I found it.

The linked videos unfortunately have nothing to do with our Watership Down. They're just a whodunit about a bank raid, heh.  :bigwig2

But I own both, the German audioplay, as well as all 14 Episodes, they've recorded for the 1999 series (they never finished them, just 14 Episodes, but interestingly it includes also the start at Sandleford, which the original series never showed). As for the second one, I don't know if this was made in 2006, but it would fit, as they've rebroadcasted the series in 2007 on SuperRTL in Germany.

If you'd like to know more, or have them, just let me know. :) Either here, or I'm also on the FHC Discord-Server.  :bigwig3
