Well, you must see the series detached from the book. It's different, but it carries the spirit of Watership Down.

I know, I think it's just little things I've heard about it like gender changes that throw me off. But I will give it a chance. It's silly I know.

Give Blackberry a chance. She's a wonderful character in the series! ;)

Maybe a little bit biased. Nothing, a good portion of the tv-series could fix :D ;)

Darkling is right. Watership Down tv-series is quite good, once you get to know it. ;)

I first was introduced to 'Watership Down' when one of my very good friends recommended it to me. In fact, she bought me my first copy, I think. It was so long ago. She moved abroad, my friend, so that book is just... really special to me. It reminds me of great times. :)
But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come! And when the sun shines it'll shine out the clearer!

My interest in WsD started when Watership Down Source (http://www.animationsource.org/watership/en/) came online about 6 or 7 months ago. After I posted my first character on there, I started to watch the series on Youtube, then I read the book, and later watched the movie (ordered from Amazon).

Almost finished reading the book for the second time. My favorite since I read (and watched) The Plague Dogs!

Back when we were very young (early '90s) it got taped off the TV, so I watched it a few times from then. (And found it pretty darn scary!) So quite an early introduction to it; though didn't get as serious about it until the series first came out. (I think. Such a time ago now!) And, if I have remembered correctly, the series helped refuel the interest in WSD, I then read the book as we had two copies in the garage, and started looking up the fansites online... and that was still early to mid '00s then.
Here lies a signature that has little point.

When I was 4-5 years old my nanny bought me whs of the old movie. I just fell in love with awesome characters. When growing up and being 10 years old I lost my heart and soul for Efrafans.. While learning my adoption roots irl I just felt  thepain they had. And just could understand them in good and in bad.

I first found Watership Down in my high school library, I was looking for new reading material and animal books always interested me. So I gave it a chance and I fell in love with the story! I loved the rabbits language and how they had their own tales... :) I was lucky enough to come across the movie on tv not long after and enjoyed it!

It wasn't until recently I found the tv show, but I've found it enjoyable so far too! :D

I first met Watership Down, though the TV series which ran on Dutch television when I was about 7...
After having followed a few weeks I found a DVD saying "Watership Down" in a local store, bought it and immediately watched it. Of course this was the movie and it scared the living *** out of me. So I decided to lay off it for a while.
Fast forward till I'm about 15, after years of fear and traumatisation, I finally decided to give the movie another go and I fell head over heels in love with it.
So I bought myself the book and its sequel soon after (in English) and even bought a second hand copy of the soundtrack LP.
Currently I'm looking for the Complete Collection of the Series ;)
What could possibly go wrong?
