The new graphic novel
« on: July 05, 2022, 08:55:54 PM »
I've been keeping up with Joe Sutphin's insatgram (the artist of the new graphic novel) and man I'm in love with it, like look at this art! The whole thing is going to be fully colored and I'm so excited

I won't spam too much of it here but here is his insta, https://www.instagram.com/joesutphin/ that features all of the art so far
An interesting design choice I didn't consider before is Bluebell's, he gave him some scars since he escaped Sandleford,

I watched some of the livestream Sutphin did yesterday and he referred to how many rabbits around him "look like they got run over by a lawn mower" so it gave him that real life backing to the design

@Acacia Heartstrings (I apologize I don't know much spanish so I google translated your message!)
But I agree the way he draws makes me feel humble, its a very down to earth but still expressive style, I really adore it! Looking through his account it seems he's always just drawn a lot of rabbits so he seems to just have been perfect for drawing the graphic novel

Great to be able to see some of these images! (I don't have an Instagram account) It's really beautiful, very realistic poses.  Bluebell has a pretty cool design, the smirk in the second image is awesome, and the Black Rabbit, spooky :inle-movie

I kinda have mixed feelings about the fact that it's going to be coloured, though.  The black-and-white drawings are already so pretty!

Totally agree, there's a rustic look to the drawings already, I was originally worried about the readability and if I would be able to tell characters apart since they are all well, very much just plain rabbits! I didn't know it was going to be colored so I figured I would tell from context clues, and he does a good job about the little things to set them apart in pen and pencil

The coloring really adds to it for me though! I love the light pinks/reds/oranges in the scene of what appears to be Fiver looking at the notice board

The drawing of the farm is so amazing.  It's great to see that the book descriptions of Boxwood and Haystack are being followed.  And you can see Kehaar in the background :kehaar

Fiver looks so creepy in the first one, but it's appropriate :fiver2

Third one is a nice landscape.

HAHAHA Sorry, I don't understand what happened, it was a mistake to put text in Spanish XD

For me, that expressive style is enough for me. That way you can do much more for less, because color takes much longer.
For my part, I am happy with the sketches that are already works of art =D   :blackberry3

Intriguing! Looks like he was inspired by film Fiver with that picture of him!
Here lies a signature that has little point.

Yessss, I can't wait! I think I specifically saw September as a release date, but not sure if that is confirmed!  :celebrate
