The Efrafan scenes are very dark; can't really blame you.
The scenes are dark and the rabbits are dark. The series' visual direction has some gaping holes.

Yeah, I did like the lighting when it was there, but on the whole there wasn't enough of it. Not as bad as some of the later Harry Potter's, but it didn't help that you couldn't tell who anyone was until they talked.

The train did help light up the set for a bit.

But yeah, it was too dark a lot of the time.
