Jewelry charms
« on: June 18, 2019, 01:06:34 AM »
NEW MERCHANDISE RELEASED!

This time it's sterling silver jewelry.

But it's also perhaps the most disappointing batch of items so far.  All merchandise so far was available for five characters, but these are only available for TWO: Hazel and Clover.  The rest of the merchandise is just generic nature stuff like berries and acorns.

To make things worse, the image filenames are broken. The Hazel charm is labeled "Clover" in the filename and vice versa.

Yeah, that is a really weird word choice. There are many other options that would have been much more appropriate..

They do look very nice (but the long legs keep coming back to haunt me). A silver necklace is something I'd actually wear if the charm part wasn't too massive. Can't tell how big it is really from the picture. Not about to pay out for this, though. :D
Here lies a signature that has little point.

They do look very nice but to be honest if they weren't named I wouldn't have been able to tell that it was supposed to be Clover. And I've wondered this before, but really, why is all this WSD merch so expensive and exclusive? :snowdrop2

^^^^

the most baffling thing is that watership down is marketed primary as a children’s show (and film of we’re going down that road), so why is the merchandise porcelain plates and sterling silver jewellery? where’s all the children appropriate merch?

It seems like someone's sent out some conflicting messages as far as marketing.

Market it towards kids on CBeebies, get Sam Smith for young adults, make expensive merchandise for the refined, working adults.

It feels like they're trying to go for everybody to be quite honest.
Too much art in paws
She/her, they/them, and any pronouns that isn't he/him and it/its.

In the most confusing way possible.

These are some vald points.

They are trying to go for everybody...except the WD fan community, who mainly want T-shirts, plastic figures and plushies.

Merch that would be reasonably priced and also appeal to more casual fans. Like, what regular Joe is gonna watch the Netflix series, say "Hey, I really liked that", and then go buy a sterling silver necklace? That's really oddly specific.
