Acorn really does have a boring name...

It's a bit disappointing that they never made any jokes about the hawk in Hawkbit's name in either the 1999 series in the miniseries though.  This has a lot of potential, as shown in Leo's fanfic for the Christmas writing event.

I do think it's strange they mixed around personality traits in the miniseries, like making Bluebell take up Dandelions story role.

It is rather weird, but overall I rather liked miniseries Bluebell.

I have to wonder just why the miniseries did Hawkbit, a minor book character, again though; why not give someone else a chance?  Miniseries Dandelion doesn't really do much either, and Hawkbit even points this out when courting Strawberry.

I thought he was written well, but he could easily have kept his jokey role while leaving Dandelion something to do besides being an athlete.

That's true.

And a largely useless athlete...all he ever did was lead the birds away.

"Oh wow, look at him go!" Then Hazel never acknowledges him again.

But then Hazel stops acknowledging anyone after he meets Clover, so...

That's why she became a lucky charm!  She was his, and now she can be yours.

I think the reason the did Hawkbit and Dandelion is because someone there watched the TV series and wanted to put some  of their personality and character dynamic from there into the miniseries.

I suppose that makes sense.

They went to great lengths to say that they weren't remaking the 1978 film, but they never said anything about the 1999 series.

Series, Miniseries?

Not a coincidence I think!

The fighting over Strawberry  thing felt very reminiscent of them fighting over ...Clover, I believe? In the series.

I think that was Heather.
Spoiler: ShowHide
She chose Moss instead.

Oh yea I think you're right. I was confusing it with the later Clover and Hawkbit scenes I think.

No one should be fighting over Strawberry, he's already sworn to his shining beloved.

Nildro-hain...

It's weird how Hawkbit waited until late season 3 to hook up with Clover, despite her being around since the middle of season 1.

I think it was a case of season 3 feeling the need to pair up buns. Bigwig needs a mate, Hawkbit needs a mate! despite having Dandelion
