For role players choosing to play their own character, please post character information in here so we all know what your character is like.

-----

Name: Mellana “Mell” Woodrunner

Species: Hare

Gender: Female

Age: 24 seasons

Occupation: soldier of the Long Patrol

Appearance: She is brown hare, with white underbelly and tail, of less-than-average height. Even though she has spent last eight seasons serving in the Long Patrol, so far she has been lucky and skillful enough to avoid earning any battle scars. Mell is quite strong (even though she is more on the lean side), which can be attested by anybody, who has ever been hit by one of her hind-leg kicks. If there ever was any bit of fat on her, it was long ago removed by her military training and service. When on the mission, she wears standard green Long Patrol uniform, which helps a lot in a way of camouflage. Except in the middle of dessert, but what kind of beast would be so stupid to go there in green clothing?

Personality: Mell is usually a good-natured hare, who enjoys other beasts’ company, unless it’s her mother (Alana) on one of her “when will you get around to raising your own bally family?!” rants. Still, she prefers to get along with everybody and has a very optimistic, merry personality. However, when it comes to doing her duty and work, she can be quite serious and no-nonsense creature. She enjoys doing her regular exercises and training with her short sword.

History: Mell was born in Salamandastron and like every hare there she wanted to join ranks of the Long Patrol. She had started having that desire as soon as she was able to lift and wave around a stick that vaguely resembled a sword. It only intensified at hearing tales of Long Patrol exploits, especially those of her older sister (Rosebelle). She was able to fulfill that dream, when she was 16 seasons old. For next 8 seasons she had been patrolling Mossflower along her fellow soldiers, fighting with any beast that had a desire to cause trouble to others. In this time she experienced joy of won battles and sadness at friends’ deaths...

Two seasons ago, she was struck by tragedy when Rosebelle was killed in a fight against a wandering band of vermin. Mellana had always been very close with her sister and she grieved over her death for a long time. Eventually she returned to active service, both out of loyalty towards her fellow members of Long Patrol and to honor the memory of her late sister. Alana has been strongly opposed to this decision ever since, as Mell is the only part of family she has left after Rosebelle’s death - Mell’s father (Douglass) died when she was barely a leveret. Despite her mother’s objection Mell is determined to stay in Long Patrol.

Name: Roth Therik (the Minstrel)

Species: Otter

Gender: Male

Age:37 seasons

Occupation: Wandering warrior, and defender of the weak.

Appearance: He is a tall otter with grey/black fur. He shows evidence of having fought all of his life. He has an odd shine in his eye that gets brighter when readying for battle or telling his war stories, of which there are many. He wears a dark grey cloak that nearly matches his fur, and can blend into any patch of shadow or darkness that he can find and is near impossible to see with the casual eye when he is doing so.  He carries a harp on his back and a sword at his side.

Personality: Roth is not a beast to mess with; if you do, your friends might wake up to find you missing one day. He is quiet and keeps to himself most of the time, unless he is with other beasts that he trusts fully including most of the Long Patrol, in that case he may even sing a song of two, accompanied by the harp he always carries. He never acts on impulse, and always has a plan, even though it may seem like there is none as he charges into the melee.

He has a mysterious and secretive air about him; he is able to make anybeast feel uncomfortable as he can stand still as a stone without blinking for hours on end.

Weapons knowledge: He mainly uses a broadsword, it belonged to his father, who had gotten it from Lord Brocktree at Salamandastron, it was the last weapon the ancient badger had ever forged. It is etched with the words "If peace works naught," on one side of the blade, and "the sword is brought" on the other. He also uses a longbow that he made seasons ago.

History: When Roth was in his teens; he was strong from helping his father work their farm, but he was inexperienced in the world. He was off getting firewood for his family when he heard a scream coming from the direction of his home. He ran back to find his father bleeding out, and his mother unconscious. When he reached his father, he was closed upon by a gang of vermin. His father, groaned and exhaled his last, which caused Roth to look down. He saw his father's sword; one of the vermin rushed at the young otter, who fell to the ground, lifted the point of the sword and drove it into the chest of the charging opponent. In minutes there were no living vermin left, yet he kept hacking and kicking and spitting. Then he saw his mother, her head was bleeding now, and it was beyond helping. she was soon dead. He rushed into the house and grabbed all the food he could carry, the scabbard for the sword, and the harp of his mother. He buried his parents that day and left the vermin for the crows.

A season or two later, he heard an old hare singing in the woods, the song began like...
"The minstrel boy to the war has gone,
and in the ranks of death you will find him.
His father's sword he has girded on,
and his wild harp slung behind him."

He asked the hare what the song was, and that it described him fairly well. The old hare smiled said something like "Badgers and written things and all that, wot!" Roth decided that the hare was mad, but from that day on he liked to think of himself as "The Minstrel".

He has been wandering Mossflower for seasons, stopping once or twice at the new abbey being built, and visiting the mountain of Salamandastron on multiple occasions, where he learned of his father's sword's make. Over time he grew more accustomed to fighting and being alone, and he often sings old marching songs and ballads.

One day he went to fight with the Long patrol, and during the battle, he saved the Brigadier General's life. He was given the right to call upon the use of the Long Patrol's forces if the need is great.
I hope I haven't left anything out.

With Brighty's permission, here is the character I plan to use in the Trapped in the Real World RP:
Name: Maria Ellison
Species: Human.
Gender: Female.
Age: 27 years.
Occupation: Currently unemployed.
Appearance: Looks like any ordinary human.
Personality: She can be resourceful when necessary. She is rather patient in most situations, She tries to help others when she can, but doesn't get opportunities to do so very often. However, she can be rather pessimistic and can get discouraged rather easily.
History: She was born in the mid 2030s. Both her parents were killed in WWIII when she was still a teenager. She had to drop out of high school to contribute to the war effort. After the war, with the worldwide economy shattered, and without any money to go to college, she ended up having to take a series of low-paying jobs.
Have you considered making each day count - doing something meaningful each day - instead of letting the days and weeks and months and years fly into oblivion? --Bright Side

Nice! I plan to get into this RP, it sounds neat. I might not be 100% active on it though. I'll have two characters, one for more anthro stuff and one for WD. Lets start with the more anthro one, I'll add in the other one later.

Name: Markov

Species: Raccoon

Gender: Male

Age: 34 seasons

Occupation: Ex-KGB member, now lives "off the grid" in a very dangerous area

Appearance: Tall, muscular build. Standard for a raccoon, grey all over with black stripes on his tail, a black "mask" fur pattern, and a tuft of fur on top of his head.

Personality: A natural born survivalist, he stays quiet most of the time and picks his actions carefully. His past in the KGB has made him unlikely to tell secrets or blow someone's cover.

History: Markov grew up in Russia, in a small town to the far north. Not much happened as he grew, but he slowly took a keen interest in military tactics and information gathering. He eventually worked his way into a position in the KGB, where he became known for weaseling information out of prisoners through torture. After an accident involving a small uprising and a raid, he decided to quit everything related to any government and cut himself off from most of the world. Until very recently, he lived with a small group of people in a secluded, seldom visited wilderness populated by bandits and other various lawbreaking individuals. The reason why he no longer resides there is centered on his now-cybernetic left forearm. It was chewed up by a machine while rescuing a few outsiders. The outsiders brought him in to a hospital and gave him a bionic arm. It offers no benefits other than telling him his vital signs at a moments notice. Markov is now employed as a special agent in a counter-terrorism unit. He is a scout/spy. Every now and then, he returns to the wilderness for a long period of time to keep his survival skills in check. His mind is filled with guilt and regret from his past work in the KGB.

this is my second watership down character so please be kind.

name: Elderberry
age: Not yet a yearling
appearance: Dark brown fur with characteristically black-tipped ears. His belly is
a beige colour and so are the insides of his ears. His eyes are a reddish hazel colour.
personality: He is shy and rather solitary for a rabbit, and prefers to be alone with his poems of nature and his daydreams. He is intrigued by nature, his favourite question being on how clouds stay in the sky. He is not a fighter and feels horrified by any signs of violence or fighting. If in the middle of a fight, he will tend to crouch down and shut his eyes, his frame overpowered by a convulsive shuddering until the violence has stopped. He knows not why he feels so strongly about fighting, but has a sensible idea that it has something to do with his past... though he cannot remember much of it. He is kind, willing to help and make one feel better when upset. He is also rather clever for a rabbit of his age and his ideas follow those of Blackberry, of whom he is very fond of.
history: He came from a warren far from watership down. Due to uncanny abilities, he was treated with caution and superstition which had a great impact on his confidence. Then he left of his own accord, he does not speak of why he left to anyone though. Upon leaving, he found that the word was cruel and dangerous to a young buck like him and he nearly died several times. Once a hawk nearly got him, but he escaped with hardly an injury except for a broken spirit and the will to lose hope.
Finally, he came upon the warren of the shining wires but like Fiver, he felt something dark... something like a choking mist, swirling around yet he could not name his abject horror and terror. He asked, multiple times, why Frith had cast such troubled thoughts upon his mind but still, the threat loomed like a waiting shadow upon him so much so, that at last in a hysteria of horror he ran from the warren and nobody dared to follow him as they claimed that he had gone tharn as the mist and snow.
Once in the open again, Elderberry found his mind clear again and he travelled across the downs and hills until he reached Watership down.
powers: As i said, he is wise yet he also has the ability to see the future like Fiver and can also, at times sense when danger lurks. He goes into a fit of shuddering, and his eyes dilate when he is in the grip of a vision.

I think that's about it  :blackberry-buck
