Well. I don't hate the song as much as I thought I would, so that's something. But then, I'll like any music. My big issue with it is the kinda melodramatic tone. I was really hoping that the series might keep the quiet, dignified tone of the book, but it's looking less and less likely.

About the slow-motion Kehaar scene: that was really good, but I'm concerned about the other scenes with him flying. Like a lot of the characters, he just doesn't look like he's reacting to anything in the environment. Just kinda gliding. Which I know sounds silly because, duh, he's flying, but I dunno, it's weird.

Hard to believe it's airing tomorrow.

Okay, gotta admit, with some shame, Fire on Fire has grown on me.

I still think it's inappropriate in tone for Watership Down, but I like the instrumentals, I think Sam Smith's voice is aight, and it makes me want to write.

But I like anything, so take that with a grain of salt.

It appears, based on tweets, that during the BBC broadcasts, there was an announcer talking during the credits, so you couldn't even hear the song properly However, the tweeters seemed glad, as they wouldn't have to suffer through the song

Okay the beat and instrumental is good. Lyrics and vocalist?  Not so much

Sam Smith's voice seems to be a simple case of "love it or hate it".  Mostly "hate it"s.

Its not that, - it's just that the song isn't in the movie. It just runs during the credits. It isn't even melodically quoted in the episodes. I'm not talking as a rival songwriter, I'm just bewildered as to what it's got to do with the film, even musically #watershipdown

While watching the end credits of the miniseries, I noticed this lyric:

Fire on fire would normally kill us

That's not the lyric. The lyric is "Fire on Fire, we're normally killers". I heard it the same as you did at first, though, and it's definitely an understandable mishearing. Doesn't change the fact that, in both words and musical composition, the song really doesn't work for WD.

Seriously, who or what is this song talking about in the context of the miniseries? Is it Clover and Hazel? I don't think so. Clover just got out of her hutch, and I truly don't know how the two of them "unfold" each other. I have to shift to completely unrelated contexts to make the song's lyrics work. They don't work at all for rabbits in general, I don't think. If anyone has suggestions about what the song is referring to in context, I'm interested.

Wait really?  The iPlayer captions say that it "would normally kill us".  But then, that wouldn't be the only mistake.  When Hazel tells Woundwort that he's a friend of Thlayli, the captions say that he's a friend of Threarah instead.

But yeah, "we're normally killers" makes more sense with the rest of the song.

I still agree that it doesn't really fit in with WD unless you look really hard and twist things.  One site I found says that it's a metaphor for homosexuality, especially since Sam Smith is gay.

Hm, well, that's definitely a conflict then, but I'd be pretty confident in saying it's "We're normally killers" in the context of the song. Need an official clarification, that's what.

I mean, maybe it's the homosexuality thing? It'd make sense with the "sinners" line, but that seems a bit odd given that
