This kinda makes me wonder...could we see the wound being inflicted?
Have you considered making each day count - doing something meaningful each day - instead of letting the days and weeks and months and years fly into oblivion? --Bright Side

Wonder where that clip could be found in the miniseries? That looks like the Efrafan in the last episode whose legs were in such bad shape I was yelling at him to stop digging. It looks like parts of him didn't render, but I can't imagine why bones would be modeled. You'd maybe see the inside of their mouths when they're talking, but that's it. Maybe they have creepy skeleton models walking around early on to assess that they're stepping just right, and then build the other stuff on top and don't bother taking out the inner layers? If that's a thing anyone does?

I don't think that has to do with something not rendering. It's clearly intentional. Animators don't just model full-on skeletons into their characters, and in the rare instance they do, it wouldn't be a fully rendered skeleton with red details for the inner flesh.
Skeletons alone are a pain to animate, and I highly doubt they would go through the process of animating skeletons and putting rabbit skins over them. In the behind the scenes of Disney's "Coco", the animators talk about how difficult animating skeletons was, and all the trial and error they had to go through. And they're Disney.

Now imagine doing all that, just to slap fur on it so it can't be seen. Wouldn't happen, especially with a low-budget production like this.

The rabbit got a wound and they adjusted the model to have the wound on the outside.

This probably is an intentional decision rather than a rendering error.  Although, there might have been rendering errors in other scenes.

I really need to watch the miniseries again; it would be interesting to see if this rabbit appeared in other scenes.
