I've been getting more into editing videos recently and the editing software I use that came with the computer really isn't working that well anymore. Do any of you know of some good ones you know are safe?

Most of the time I use Avidemux.  It's simple but powerful.  If you choose this one, however, download from the SourceForge mirror; FossHub has been problematic in the past.

Another program is Shotcut.  It also has a lot of features.  However, depending on what you plan to do, a combination of Avidemux and Shotcut might be a possibility to consider ;)

Finally, there is Kdenlive, which is the most advanced of the three.  However, it is also the most complicated to use, and most users won't need all its features.  Also, this one is mainly built for Linux; the Windows version can be unstable sometimes.

Sony Vegas pro is a nice one though I'm not sure if there are any free versions. I'd love to see your videos sometime.

I use the Wondershare Video Editor and I'm very satisfied. Got in for free on a magazine-dvd.

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CC. It's a pretty powerful tool, and depending on how long you need to use it, it's usable for 30 days in demo mode. :bigwig3

Got Premiere Pro for free when Adobe were giving their older software away, but that was about 5 years ago.
