Wildlife embroidary/cross stitch
« on: February 07, 2020, 10:47:33 PM »
It has been a while since I visited the forums! I've not been writing because I lost my note book - I need to find it again before I do anything more on the Tolkien fan fic...

I have been working on these, from a cross stitch book called Nature. It's quite an old one from around 2000. There are some small charts of wild creatures in it that I am working my way through and framing. They take about a couple of days to do, if that. I used my own colour schemes because the key is Anchor threads which I find I can't get hold of these days so they've probably come out slightly different to what they should have done. (I tried to keep the colours as close as I could.) So far, I've done my favourites, the fox and the badger!

Those are lovely! I'm having a hard time picking a favorite. Have you seen or ever done one of the 1999 Watership down series cross stitch patterns?
My Youtube account is CockatielPony. Go check it out i post stuff

No. I don't buy from e-bay and similiar sites because I had problems with a seller once. In those days I didn't have a lot of money to spend on kits and magazines. They won't be that easy to get hold of now.

These look awesome!  That fox in particular is very cute, but the hedgehog (?) and badger also look great :bark

Would it be all right to share these on the forum's Twitter account?

Sadly, misleading/false eBay listings can be commonplace.  But it's also perhaps the only place where vintage WD merchandise can be obtained these days...
Have you considered making each day count - doing something meaningful each day - instead of letting the days and weeks and months and years fly into oblivion? --Bright Side

Sure! I don't mind them being shared on the twitter account. Another place you might find things are charity shops. People might loose interest in something, grow out of it, or need to have a clutter clearance. If I came across something there, I would buy it.

These looks great! Cross-stitching is very satisfying. :)

I started a big one a few years back and haven't come back to it still...
