A New World v2 Theme
« on: February 29, 2016, 02:21:30 PM »
We were discussing in the Junior Owsla Chamber about the forum's design.

We agreed, that the background makes everything a bit hard to read. So I was working on a modified version of my design.

The background is now zoned from the board's content and the middle part became darker to improve the text visibility.

I set the new theme as default without waiting for response of the other team members. So when you have something to criticize: It was the bat!

The quicklinks of Kehaar's ZAP have been improved, so the whole board shouldn't look so overloaded anymore.

Other improvements of the template concern mobile devices. The background disappears on smartphone and tablets to improve reading.

Praises, ovations and adoration: To me :darkling
Criticism, derision and malice: To Claws and Myrkin :D

No, serious: Myrkin made the suggestion and I did the job. So if something doesn't work, ask me.

The mobile version (which I am using right now) looks gorgeous. Two claws up and Ice Bear's approval for a job well done :)

Thank you very much. On my smartphone, sone texts are too big and some are too small. On my tablet, everything is fine. Guess, that's an android problem.

Do you know, what caused the big font? I set my zoom level to 200% :D

After putting everything back to normal, it works fine.

What do you think?

Should I colorize the columns of Kehaar's ZAP

I mean, every column stands for one section:
- Support
- Introductions
- Activities
- Changes

Or do you think, it would be too confusing.

The colors mustn't be very different. Just to highlight, that two columns accompany together.

I noticed the new theme yesterday when it was still labled "testing".  Overall, I think it is an improvement over the first version.  The darker background does make things easier to read.

I don't have a mobile device so I can't really comment on that.  Sorry.

I guesss colorizing the columns on Kehaar's ZAP might be a good idea, as long as they aren't too bright, which would distract the visitor.

That's good to hear. I've changed Kehaar's ZAP.

What do you think?

I think that overall, it's better.  However, would it also be possible to change the background in the last column, with social media buttons and the link to High Lonely Hills?  Right now, it feels slightly out of place with the others, I think.

This might take a bit to get used to, but let's try it! It may be more readable this way.

I like the modifications to Kehar's ZAP (That's what the buttons at the top are called, right :P)

And this made me laugh:

I'm gonna make a successful zombie movie named after you: The Walking Joke :D!

If you would at least have called it "The Walking Bat" :meh

Reworked Kehaar's ZAP. The font should be now easier to read. :)
