So, do you have any cool/memorable/whatever gaming stories to share?

I will kick this topic off with one of my favorites: So, I was playing Deus Ex (my favorite game ever) for the first or second time and I realized that there was this starving kid asking for some food in exchange for vital information... I don't know why, but I didn't take the game THAT seriously when that happened and I guess that I just wanted to know if there really wasn't any way of getting a "Game Over" screen for misbehaving.

So, what I did was to actually give him the candy bar I stole from work (God bless you, Deus Ex XD) and, as soon as he gave me the details, I grabbed my baton and... beat him to death with it xD I was expecting that to be it, but the game didn't seem to care in the slightest, so I doubled my bet by grabbing the bloody body and throwing it into the Hudson river, right in front of a Police boat. AGAIN, no-one seemed to care... and that's how I fell in love with the game.

In fact, I re-started the whole thing just to misbehave after that and you can rest assured knowing that no life was spared. Gosh, I love that game xD

BTW: I also played the game being a really good, outstanding officer. It makes for an interesting change, but I love that you can do otherwise.

How about you guys, what stories do you have to share?

I have my fair share of Team Fortress 2 pub stories.

One time, I was playing Medic on Harvest and there were these two Sticky Jumper Demos hopping all over the place and being general pains for my team. So in my frustrated state, I thought it was a great idea to go after one with my Ubersaw. One of them is running by, preparing to jump again and just as he's set off his stickybombs, I hit him with the saw, get a crit, and his dead body flies across the map. I don't doubt that this was caused by an inconsistency in latency, but it was glorious.

And then there was the time when I was messing around as a Bonk Scout on 2fort and I teamed up with a Demoknight and a Quick-Fix Medic to take down the enemy engineer's sentry gun. I ran into their spawn area Bonk'd and took its attention while the Demo ran in with his sword and started beating on it. My memory is foggy after that, but I know the Sentry killed the Demo sometime in there and the Medic disappeared. In any case, it was just enough damage for me to finish the thing off with a scattergun shot. It was nuts, man, but I loved it.

A lot of that probably sounded like gibberish to anyone who hasn't played TF2. I'm okay with that.

I got one!

Actually, I remember one xD

So, this guy came to my house and we placed a little bet: We were going to play Army Men World War: Land, Sea, Air (try to say that three times fast) on the old PSX and the bet was that whoever got the most score (or kills, I honestly don't remember... it's been over a decade now) would win the money (around $10).

We played normally and it was a pretty even match... that until the game decided to go bonkers and it started to SPAWN HIM RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME every time after I killed him. It was glorious.

All I had to do was to aim at him and he would be there... I must have murdered his soldier like 20 times in a row xD

And the best thing is that I actually won the money xD

I don't normally play online, but there was a time when I and 7 other people grouped together in Halo 4 and played 8v8 matches online as a team. Instead of actually trying to win, though, we did some hilarious stuff to troll the opposing teams.

Basically, we all would use the same abilities and camp out in a room and abuse them. For example, we all had auto turrets at one point and would activate all of them any time an enemy came near. Needless to say, you don't last very long when there are 16 things shooting at you simultaneously. We also spent a couple games sneaking around the map and using Camo when anyone was within sight, and that let to some extremely tense moments when the enemy would linger around.

That was some of the most fun I've had playing online. It was hilarious. The best part was we still won almost every game. One person recorded some clips and was going to make a montage (though he never did... :( ). There are a couple trailers showing the madness, though :p

I've been looking for this topic, I never knew we had one here!
I'll share a moment from Rainbow Six Siege, when I discovered why I can't run it on my PC.

I was having fun with a few random guys on a casual server, chugging along at an insanely slow 20fps. The round ended and as the next one began and the drones were sent out to scout for the enemies, all the textures for the house started bugging out. Some of the textures broke entirely, covering my whole screen in polygons, but a few of them just went invisible or looked like they were made of 2 pixels each. Needless to say I died almost instantly because I couldn't see where I was shooting (The first person models didn't mess up, other than the shading turning purple). I spectated the rest of the round, which looked like people walking through a shifting maze of broken textures.
And that's when I realized that I need to upgrade to an i7 core  :fiver

...slow 20fps....shading turning purple...I need to upgrade to an i7 core

You need a better graphics card, m8. CPU doesn't affect textures like that, plus an i7 isn't necessary for gaming. An i5 has the same singlecore performance as an i7, just without hyperthreading (and significantly cheaper)

Here's a story, told through greentext:

>playing TF2, random server
>everyone on this server is super serious and tryhard, dunno why
>i get insulted by someone on other team
>politely ask them to tell me how to play better, over text chat
>they don't oblige, insult me more
>autobalance; he's now on my team
>this kid is so tryhard, he actually cares about team performance
>frustrated, he frantically tries to explain how to rocket jump and crit
>I secretly join the other team
>he's standing in the open, typing this long text to me
>I select sniper
>boom headshot x3 on this guy
>dominate him
>he's still trying to type, making sure to still be malicious towards my lack of skill
>he doesn't realize I'm both no longer on his team AND dominating him
>he gets banned for AFK

>revenge has been served

Oh, Insurgency. You never fail to amuse me.

I was playing in a modified server when me and two other players go "I'm bored, lets go knives only this round!" and we did just that. It was a challenge, but it was hilarious at the same time. We were sliding around all over the place, through fire, bullets, and explosions while knifing anyone we could see. We also demonstrated our parkour skills by doing 360 degree jumps and landing on people.

Here's a screenshot.

So... I'm playing "Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX" (amazing game, by the way) and, in one part, I managed to trigger a glitch which allows you to steal items from the shop. Amazing, right? Not really...

By doing this, the game had the shopkeeper ONE-SHOT me and it also changed my name to THEFT. Permanently.

It didn't ruin my game or anything, cuz I needed the item they were selling (a bow which costs 980 rupees) but Jesus Christ, that's a little excessive, game.

I also introduced my friend to Deus Ex and... he managed to survive the DEADLY surveillance robot which was guarding the entrance to the Statue of Liberty, lure it to the docks and to make it VANISH from the game. I have never seen anything like that happening before. It was as crazy as it was epic.

(whoops dead thread)

my gaming stories are so basic because neither me or my sister can be bothered to connect any of our devices to the internet.

after my sister and I finished both portal games we decided to give co-op a try. it ended with my sister in tears because I wasn't being a good partner.

then there are all the times my sister and I try to play mario kart on my switch and she eventually stands in front of the tv whenever shes not winning...

none of my stories are at all interesting, but playing with my sister certainly is! :D

I have a lot of great memories playing video games with my brother and had a lot of funny moments but they're mostly hard to explain and probably not funny to those reading them. Some moments even make it to inside jokes between us (ok actually a lot).

A recent little thing was when I played Dark Souls Remastered. I'd played other Souls games but never Dark Souls 1 as, coming from Dark Souls 2, it felt slow and it was dark and meh but with remastered I decided to give it another shot. My brother has played DS1 a LOT and also got the platinum. One such trophy involves getting all unique weapons and we both remember him farming the Channeler's Trident for ages because he had no luck on the drop.

So then I played Remastered and came across the first enemy that can drop this weapon, said enemy was killed by my nice phantom servants and I wanted to move on but my brother said that he thought he saw a drop so I went over and he was already like "No, this can't be happening...!" *picks up* Channeler's Trident! My brother screamed, I laughed and did its little buff dance.

Our horror game sessions are some of my fav tho. Forbidden Siren is our current one and I had to laugh at it so hard, it actually hurt.

Man, sometimes I really wish we recorded our gameplay sessions. So many fun moments. :)

I really enjoy the more extreme sports games like Tony Hawk Pro Skater series and  the S.K.A.T.E trilogy.

Not only are the first 8 games of the Tony Hawk series great and the S.K.A.T.E trilogy (especially SKATE 2) are really fun to play but the soundtracks are just windows into listening to great music form a lot of genres.

I have recently completed all 3 SKATE games in record time. Completed all of the goals and found and "owned/killed" all of the spots in about 3 weeks.
