I would like change my user name from arnoldretsch-blablabla to Retsch? But always I becomes Error. Must the Cheffest to do that?
Or how works that?

Yes, we are the ones who need to approve those kind of changes.

I personally see no problem as long as the change is permanent (ergo, you wouldn't be changing it again for this year at the very least).

I was thinking or permanently changing my username, and this topic seemed like the best place for it. Would it be ok if my username was changed to Strifer?
