Hello fellas!
« on: April 14, 2016, 10:09:13 PM »
Why, hello there!

Finally, a community dedicated to one of my favourite stories in the whole world: Watership Down!

So many emotions stemming from this story, so many colourful memories...  Every character, either from the book, the film or the series, surrounded by their own magic... I can't thank you all enough for creating such a community, so full of life and so dedicated and interested in Watership Down. It trully is a dream coming true.

Let's move on, though. I'm here to introduce myself after all. My name is AndreofHazel (bet you have no idea where the second part of my name comes from) and I've been a big fan of WSD ever since I was 12 years old, over 8 years ago! I'm a student at the University of Piraeus where I'm studying computer science at the Department of Digital Systems. Also, I'm a Youtuber of some sort. You can check out my channel by visiting my profile and clicking the link I've posted or by simply searching the term 'AndreofHazel' on Youtube. I doubt most of you would be interested in my videos since they are all gaming related, but even if you were, the commentary is in Greek so I doubt you would understand anything either. I use the same picture that I have here as an avatar for my YT channel and I also refer to my subs as 'Owsla'.

I think it's quite obvious that, a part of Watership Down, be it small or huge depending on how one sees it, has been stuck with me ever since the day we met. Even though I was mostly busy with other matters during all these years, my love for it never really burnt out. I used to stumble upon it every so often either by rewatching the series or by rereading a chapter from the book. And now, at last, I discovered this community, full of people that share the same passion about it as I do! I'm really excited to be here and I hope we'll all have a great time together :D

Good to hear we're interested in the same stuff. We could have some really interesting conversations ;)

The size of the forum isn't a problem to me at all. I actually like it being in a small group of people rather than a chaotic forum with thousands of members. It's easier to get to know  and become friends with each other. Thus, the community bonds strengthen even further.

I'm gradually liking it more and more here. The fellas have put tons of work into this forum, it's bursting with life.

As for my signature, thank you for mentioning it, I hope that I can create a topic where we will discuss it more extensively in the future ;)

Small and cozy places are the ones that I want to belong in :)

I'm glad you like the way I refer to my subs. I was looking for a name ever since I started getting tiny bits of popularity. I wanted one that I could be identified with, so I thought "How about 'Owsla'? It's a suitable one plus, it comes from one of my most beloved stories, a story really close to my heart. If this is a name that I can't be identified with, then what is?". And, somewhat like that, I made it official. I doubt any of my subs got the reference however, even if some of them were actually skeptical about it.

By the way, I, also, do believe that most of us could never forget the world of Watership Down, once we got to know its magnificence.  It truly is one of the few things worth remembering for the rest of your life.

Above all, thank you for the warm welcome. I think it'll be a blast :D

Even though lots of people have misread my name in many ways, it's the first time I've seen anyone misread it like that :P Nice to meet you and thanks :)
