What is Prince Rainbow

I imagined prince rainbow to be a white rabbit with rainbow wings and blue eyes.

Interesting question.

I also think he'd be a white rabbit but his fur would be constantly moist from rain and it would reflect light, fracturing it differently, from different angles which causes his fur to have a different coloured gleam depending on from where you look at him.

I think his eyes would be amber at the core but have a similar quality as the fur. The colour shifts constantly into every possible shade. However, instead of reflecting light, the light in his eyes would come from within.

That's how I can imagine

We can all agree on the white rabbit idea I see! I also imagined him to have a tail that would shine brilliantly, such as how Frith blesses El-Ahrairah with a brilliant, white tail. Prince Rainbow would have a bright, shining tail that would absorb colours around, to seem different.

Oh I like the shining tail idea! I like it more than the shining eyes I imagined at first. So I think I'll add it to the way I picture him from now on!

I seem to be the only one who doesn't see Prince Rainbow as a rabbit.  I always saw him as...a rainbow, or something like that.  I like the way he was shown in the series, but he could have been more colourful.

Some say that Prince Rainbow was a rabbit. Others say that he was a man. This storyteller believes that Prince Rainbow had the power to become any and all of Frith's Creatures.

The figure was at least thirty feet tall and was dressed in a flowing robe that covered him from the neck down. The robe seemed to contain every color [the main OC] could think of. As he looked up, he saw a face that was both old and wise

Then, suddenly, a bright light flashed in the centre of the burrow.  All stared at it in amazement.  There was no hole in the roof for it to come through, so its presence was rather mysterious.  It contained a thousand different colours, most of which the rabbits had never seen before (actually I wrote that one, a long time ago)

IMO, Prince Rainbow was used only as the messenger in rabbit's mythology, because a rainbow seems to build a connection between sky and earth.

I always imagine him as a kind of beaver creature - gregarious, constructive (he and his associates have to construct things like dams to get fish for sustenance). They had no enemies, but they did have disputes among themselves. A gregarious animal, living in packs and living by constructing bridges and dams. Exploiting running water for their living

Same here. I just took the name literally that he was a rainbow!

However I do rather like the idea he could be a rabbit, too.

I think I remembered looking at some answered questions from Richard Adams. Some one asked him what is King Darzin and he said he imagined him as a beaver.
I think king Darzin is also bigger then el-ahraira and rabscuttle.

I, too, assumed Prince Rainbow was a... "rabbitification" of mere rainbows. Seeing as they're probably uncommon enough for the rabbits to assume they're important messages from Frith, it makes sense. Also, when Pipkin sees the rainbow in The Mysterious Visitors, he explicitly says Prince Rainbow is visiting.

There is certainly a strong case for Prince Rainbow being a rabbit instead, however. The El-ahrairah stories have Prince Rainbow telling El-ahrairah to do things directly, and that can just as easily be interpreted to mean that Prince Rainbow is an actual entity rather than just a rainbow to the rabbits. Also, the case in the series I just mentioned could also mean that Prince Rainbow is supposed to be at the base of said rainbow rather than being the rainbow itself.

You know, just seeking out this information is really making me doubt myself. I can't tell which is more convincing anymore!

I see Prince rainbow as a mass of rainbow light shaped like a rabbit. He's subtly see through like real rainbow light with large glowing white eyes that have no pupils.
