Lord Frith's Apperance
« on: August 25, 2016, 11:14:41 PM »
Hello, Everybody, You all know as Vesper and I got an interesting thought I came up with yesterday while I was rethinking of the (1978) Watership Down movie.
Have you noticed that the movie starts off with Lord Frith and it ends with him? I know there is deep meaning when the movie producers put the scenes including when he gives Hazel his piece of advice, but I would like to know what you all think my thought of how it starts off with Lord Frith (God) and ends with  :frith ?

I hadn't really noticed how it both starts and ends with Frith.  That's interesting.

I do remember the part where Hazel is willing to sacrifice himself for the others' safety and Frith replies to him.  This didn't happen in the book.  If I remember correctly, Frith's words in the film are the same as the Black Rabbit's to El-ahrairah in the original book.
Have you considered making each day count - doing something meaningful each day - instead of letting the days and weeks and months and years fly into oblivion? --Bright Side

I really like the way the movie begins and ends with Frith. It really brings everything full circle. Not only the cycle of life, but also the story itself in much the same way that Richard Adams did at the beginning and end of the novel with the blooming primroses.

I think it means that the God Frith is omnipotent and knows everything, as well as many stories of rabbits and other animals, and among them tells the journey of hazel and his companions ...  :hazel
Whenever I think about it, I feel very happy =)
Frith never intervenes, but always observes.    :frith
I love Watership Down!

Everything is fine =) (?)

Frith is the rabbits God so I guess it showed that he was with theme throughout the whole journey.

I was watching Watership down yesterday since my sister hasn't seen it yet. I was with my mom brother and sister and my siblings always talk through out movies well anyway my brother asks me "Does Buttwig die in the movie" and then my sister says " General Newborn is really ugly" haha that drove me crazy with laughter.

I liked the way the movie ended with the images of Frith...kind of like a tie-in to wrap the story up and yet also give continuation to it, that the stories of the WSD rabbits will continue, just as the story opened up with the 'in the beginning' sort of theme.  Because everyone knows a story with that great of a beginning will have no end. :)
