Crackers Writes
« on: January 09, 2017, 08:08:14 PM »
So, I thought I'd make a topic for my writings instead of putting it all in my blog. What's that you said? Crackers writes? And she has a blog?! Yeeahhhhh, I can't really write on demand, and I don't have as much time on my hands lately so writing has been on the back burner for a really, really long time.

That being said, I do go in and write a little at a time occasionally. I've been working on a gift for a friend for about a year now, so that's my main priority.   :buttercup

And that being said. . . . I wrote a little vignette thing the other day. And yes, I stole [CALL]Chipster-roo[/CALL]'s name. With consent, though! It's kinda rough and not my best work, but I hope you enjoy it. :)

I don't really have a name for it because I suck at naming things
The first snow of the winter had fallen softly overnight, and all was quiet in the morning. Chipster the young Carolina Wren flew over the forest, looking for anything interesting.

Alighting down a branch by a cardinal, Chipster chirped hello. The cardinal looked at him and grumpily returned the greeting. Okay then, the wren thought to himself, spying some seeds just within his reach. Reaching over, he tried to peck at the seeds, rocking the branch slightly. A flash of red registered in the corner of his eye, but Chipster didn’t pay any attention to it, pecking again. He saw the red again, and Chipster saw that the grumpy cardinal was rocking back and forth on the branch, having trouble keeping his balance.

Chipster tilted his head, and then experimentally reached forward again. The branch rocked, and the cardinal had to flap again. The mischievous wren smiled to himself, and gave a small jump, rocking the branch, then jumped again, enjoying himself immensely.

After a few more jumps, the cardinal gave up and flew away, casting another grumpy look at Chipster, who laughed.

When Chipster had had his fill, he flew away, off to find make more mischief. [/spoiler]

Oh, cool, I don't have to re-format it. YAY.

I like it, very nice piece :D It's the right length and doesn't lose its lighthearted tone. Keep it up!
