Favorite Film Rabbit

So who do you really like from the film and why?


For most of us, the film was one of our first media adventures bringing the Watership rabbits to life on the screen.  I for one remember the first time I watched it and I remember thinking it was pretty graphic for an animated film, and I also remember enjoying John Hurt's portrayal of Hazel.  Why?  Hazel was presented as I would've expected him as the leader, and Hurts voice can be stern when it needs to, understanding in times of trouble.  Hurt was the perfect choice for Hazel and the on-screen portrayal of the rabbit leader was exactly as I had expected after reading the book.  




So what are your guys thoughts on your favorite rabbit characters?

I'd have to say Bigwig, for how brave he was. I doubt that even Woundwort would have ran out to get a fox way from his wide patrol. Plus Bigwig was the only rabbit that Woundwort feared.

Also, have you see Felidae? The gore in that movie makes Watership Down seem mild and not a single death (other than the antagonist) is on screen, just their remains seen afterwards. Watership Down never showed any does with their kittens ripped out of their womb like one of the cats in Felidae. Its the only r-rated animated film I've heard of.

For me it's impossible to point out only one character from the movie, that I could call my favourite.

I like Hazel, for the same reasons that Adam likes him. Hazel is trully a good leader: knows what he needs to do; thinks of thelong-term future; treats every member of group with respect, etc.

I like Bigwig. He is really brave rabbit, isn't he? Remember how cooly he acted during road/hrududu scene?

I like Fiver and his relationship with his brother, Hazel. You can see in the movie how much they care for each other, like in the scene when Fiver went to look for Hazel.

To be honest, every character in the movie has some feature, thanks to which I can like them (at least a little). Even those on the bad side.

I think it would be Blackberry for me. His original design is a way better than in the series Bigwig is also braver and acts more like a captain of Owsla, in the movie Just what I think

Bigwig, I guess. I also like Fiver

Bigwig for me.
I loved him in the original film. Just his personality and his tuft of hair did it for me.
