I'm just wondering for those who are from places that have a different Netflix that is not in English whether the Miniseries will be in their native language?  :dandelion

Hmmm that's a good question. I guess they wouldn't be thinking about a dub until after it airs in English. I guess for people in native countries they probably have to check if the series is even added on netflix in their country
My Youtube account is CockatielPony. Go check it out i post stuff

Since the miniseries is a Netflix original series, it will probably be available everywhere Netflix is available (except in the UK, where the BBC holds the rights).

I don't know if the miniseries will be dubbed in other languages; I guess it depends on whether Netflix thinks it would be profitable to do so.  But if foreign language dubs are produced, I guess they probably won't have an all-star cast like the original English version.

I hate that the BBC is airing it in the UK, I don't know if I have a scheduled plan over the Christmas. I hope that a DVD is released next year for those who were unable to take time to watch it but are still eager to see it in it's 4 hour glory.

No problem, in fact much better for me that the BBC is airing it. (Don't have a Netflix account.) I'll end up recording it all and it will stay on our TV planner for quite some time. If it's good enough then I'll probably get the DVD later on.

I'm rather glad that the miniseries will be on Netflix in my country.  No ads :snowdrop2 Also my computer monitor supports higher resolutions than my TV :strawberry2 Although honestly, if a DVD of the miniseries gets released, I might import a copy from the UK, so I don't have to worry about hitting my data cap :silverweed2

BBC has no advertisements because it's taxpayer funded but the scheduling has to be correct for people like me to care about my front room.

About the translations.
Since most people can at least understand English even at a basic level it's not hard to realise the point of getting a lot of non-English actors to just dub over the lines from the original English scripts.
A lot of people will most likely know what is being said even if they don't speak English fluently themselves.

Don't they usually hire a translating company to write the translated/dub script and then hire/use voice actors they have contracts with? At least that's how I believe the Dutch dubbing of cartoons and such go. They also have to sync and such. Dubbing is not that simple of business. I know of a Dutch company, Wim Pel Productions, that does a lot of shows.

I can actually already imagine some VAs in my head. The same ones that pop up everywhere :D

I'm gonna watch it in English regardless but a dub would be good news since it helps spread WSD to more people. Is there a chance it could be broadcast on tv besides the BBC or does Netflix not allow that?

(I'm suddenly glad my parents have Netflix. I can ask them if I can watch it^^)

Though I've always thought that for a dub of something like this movie is that they send the original English scripts to certain countries where it will be broadcast and get actors to read out the English version in their own language.

It appears that the miniseries will receive a French dub.  Alexandra Ansidei will be providing the voice of Clover in the French version.
