//.wow ok so idk the setting i had in mind was on the down after hazels death in the bookverse but it can be anywhere i guess. uhhhhhh jump in? (my characters http://fhc.soopergrape.com/index.php?topic=1899.0)

Dahlia and Elm sat  in a shaded part of the field, the doe nibbling at the strands of grass poking up from the ground while the buck sat back and simply watched the day roll by. Dahlia looked up from her silflay, nose twitching, and chew what was in her mouth with quick, rapid movements. Elm caught her gaze and nodded his head, leaning down to silflay himself.

Character profile
Name: Honeysuckle
Age: around one year and a half.
Gender: Doe.
Appearance: Mostly black fur, with white ear tips.  Average size.
Personality: She has a taste for excitement, adventure and mischief.  She can sometimes behave impulsively and recklessly.  She hopes to get in the owsla at some point and often tries to prove her worth, with mixed results due to her reckless behaviour.  Depending on her mood, she can be very nice or really annoying.

---

IC: Honeysuckle was also at silflay, further away in the field.  She looked at Dahlia and Elm, calmly nibbling the grass.  She felt bored.  It seemed that so far today nothing notable had happened.  A group of rabbits had left for a raid on Nuthanger farm and, while Parsley would have wanted to participate, she had only learned about it after they were gone.  She would have to find excitement elsewhere, perhaps by playing a trick on these two.  But for the moment, she simply continued her silflay.

Dahlia momentarily made contact with the other doe, and gave a little nod in acknowledgement before lowering her head to silflay again. Elm, however, stared at the doe for a longer time before ignoring her existence again.

Honeysuckle continued to stare at Dahlia and Elm, long after they had stopped looking at her, as an idea formed into her mind.  She carefully hopped to a nearby bush, doing her best not to get noticed.  Then, she started shaking it with her front paws, hoping to catch the two rabbits' attention.

Dahlia noticed first, lifting her head and looking around with her eyes wide in fear. Elm noted his sister's surprise, and attempted to calmly continue what he was doing. Dahlia hopped a few paces closer to her brother. "Elm!" She hissed through clenched teeth. "What's that?"
Elm raised his head and scented in the air. "No scent of elil. It's probably nothing."

Honeysuckle smiled: her plan was going just as she hoped it would.  She continued shaking the bush, and to top it off, she tried to imitate the growl of a fox.  The resulting noise didn't really sound like any type of elil, but hopefully it would do the trick.

Dahlia jumped and pushed Elm over with her. She scrambled to put her brother in front of her, ignoring his protests. "Frith and Inle! I can't smell any will so it must be nothing!"

Honeysuckle stopped shaking the bush for a few moments.  She had hoped that Dahlia would run away, allowing her to talk with Elm alone, but instead Dahlia tried to get her brother to run away too.  She would have to try to minimize the damage.

She gave a few kicks onto the bush and made a few grunts, before running out of it, panting.  "I think I scared that beast away," she said.

Elm watched Honeysuckle exit the bush, eyes narrowed at her, and nodded. Dahlia peered around her brother, eyes wide and sparkling in wonder. "Woah... Did you really scare off that elil by yourself?"

Honeysuckle remained silent for a few moments, thinking of what to answer.  This would be a good opportunity to prove her skills (even if it was all based on a lie), but she didn't want to appear to be bragging.  While she was thinking, she pretended to catch her breath, before finally replying. "Er...yeah.  But it was a young and small one.  It didn't put up much of a fight."

Slowly, Dahlia stepped away from Elm with her head down. "Are you hurt?" She asked, soft and uncertain. She didn't want to be anywhere near an injured rabbit in case any other creatures were lured by the scent of blood. Elm, however, didn't look too impressed - almost as if he had caught her lie. But inside he was seething because he hadn't ever seen any of the Thousand face-to-face. He hoped she was bluffing; a doe couldn't have seen one before he did.

"I don't think so.  I'm just a bit tired..." Honeysuckle didn't want to keep talking about the incident, in case she accidentally said something that would prove her lie.  Especially since Elm might already be suspecting something.  "I think I'll go take a nap," she said.

With that, she hopped away to a nearby tree, and lied down in the shade.  While she closed her eyes, she remained awake, to listen to Dahlia and Elm and, if they chose to follow her, hear them approach.

Dahlia looked to her brother. A concerned look spread across her face. "Should we follow her?" Sher watched the empty space where Honeysuckle had left, as if staring would give her the answer. Elm shrugged his shoulders, claws ripping at the ground. "Do you think we should?"
Dahlia thought about that and nodded decisively. "If she's fine, then we've made another friend!" She sang, bounding away. Elm rolled his eyes, but followed his sister.

As Honeysuckle heard Dahlia and Elm follow her, she tried to think of what she should do.  It would be nice to be friends with them, she thought.  However, she remained worried that the truth about the "elil encounter" would be revealed.  She slowly opened her eyes and turned her head to stare at the approaching rabbits.

"There's some nice clover around here," she said, taking a leaf in her mouth and nibbling rapidly.  "Want some?"

Elm lifted his chin, dark eyes staring and muscles tense. There was something about Honeysuckle's demeanour (maybe the way she spoke? He wasn't sure) that felt off. It wasn't a bad 'off', but more uncomfortable. Tight. His sister nodded her head. "Oh, yes please!" She answered, stumbling forward to munch on the clover.
