I've recently gotten back into WSD fandom. Unfortunately aside from this site ( well, NOT unfortunately, because I can concentrate my energies here :)) so many sites are just dead and I cannot stand Facebook, but I am tempted to do a search there for some WSD fan sites.

I was going through my collectibles ( I finally did get the WSD puzzle by Waddington, and the ONLY Royal Orleans figure which eludes me now is Captain Campion as I lost the darn auction a year ago and it has not resurfaced, that figure) and I found something extraordinary I forgot about!!

A member of the Yahoo groups WSD had been to the real WSD and the surrounding area of the book places, and he had sent me a stick from the beech tree on WSD...a piece of chalk from the top of WSD, and a small rock from the Enborne.  I found them in a little bag at the bottom of this box, and I was so happy. How can you beat that...stuff from the real WSD?

Then I realized a friend of mine from another blog lives in the town, Overton, which is on the map there in the book...and he said " Yes, the River Test is five minutes by bus..." I could have screamed. :P

You should show me some pictures of your magnificent collection of WSD, to show off. In addition, it is great to live near the place where the story was inspired to be created.
At least one day of these, I can have a rabbit with the name of Fiver or Silverweed.

Sure...do I just do the same thing with the url, using the embed code thing from Flickr and then what you showed me in your message? ( To post the pic url I mean). I think...I don't remember when I posted pics of all my collectibles but I can do that again too...it's so far back I don't remember, and there's some new things. Plus I can arrange it better :).  I just saw a set of 7 WSD Royal Orleans figurines on EBay with Captain Campion, the one figurine I need but I don't want the other six :P I already have em.

Yes Acacia I shall post pix.

That's true it's always places you live by doesn't seem much of a big deal. It's like how I live only 20 minutes away from the Mall of America, but I don't know how much of a big deal it is going there if you live in another state.

That's true it's always places you live by doesn't seem much of a big deal. It's like how I live only 20 minutes away from the Mall of America, but I don't know how much of a big deal it is going there if you live in another state.
Oh wow. Well, true...I live near Lake Tahoe and I don't there to the lake :P but sooo many people I know do. I guess if you are familiar with something so closeby, it's like, okay, big deal.  I know my friend has gone there to WSD though. But when I found those little items from another friend ( we were penpals actually also) I was ...WOW!! I cannot believe I forgot they were in that huge box :P I lined everything up so I could take pix.
