I have many since I'm a big fan of music. If I ignore videogame music, instrumentals, and foreign songs, then I've managed to narrow it down to about 25.
My top 5 of those:
1. Weezer - Island in the Sun
(has the most beautiful music video of all time, the Weezer cast playing with several cute animals on a sun-kissed golden hill.
Check it out)
2. Michael W. Smith - Never Been Unloved
(brought me to tears, has heartwrenching lyrics, yet has hope in forgiveness. My favorite line: "Unaware, I have been unfair, I've been unfit for blessings from above, but even I can see the sacrifice you made for me, to show that I have never been unloved")
3. kandi - One eskimO
(this is precisely what's up my alley. Calm music, nonsensical lyrics, and surreal visuals in its music video)
4. Steve Winwood - Reach For the Light
(very uplifting song, forever in my memories for being the credits song to Balto)
5. Doobie Brothers - Black Water
(unique soothing tune with a great violin. I love whatever genre this is)
And here's my list of 25:
America - A Horse With No Name | Art Garfunkel - Bright Eyes | Boy George - Karma Chameleon | Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song | Clay Aiken - When You Say You Love Me | Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence | Dierks Bentley - What Was I Thinkin' | Doobie Brothers - Black Water | Genesis - Jesus He Knows Me | Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams | kandi - One eskimO | Kenny Loggins - I'm Alright | Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit | Mariah Carey - Anytime You Need a Friend | Michael Jackson - Earth Song | Michael Smith - Never Been Unloved | Nickel Creek - The Fox | Reel Big Fish - Somebody Hates Me | Rick Astley - Whenever You Need Somebody | Roxette - Paint | Seal - Kiss From a Rose | Sheryl Crow - Light in Your Eyes | Steve Winwood - Reach For the Light | Tears for Fears - It's a Mad Mad World | Weezer - Island in the Sky
So if you haven't guessed, most of my favorite music is calm, whatever I can trance out to. Which is why my favorite videogame soundtrack is Ecco the Dolphin (Megadrive or PC version) or its sequel, for absolutely nailing it. My faves there are Volcanic Reef (aka "Friend or Foe") from the first one, Maze of Stone (aka "Transcended") from the second one.
