Yo yo yo I have a lot of feelings inside me about these trashy cats and if anyone has read the books, uhhhh you're here so.

Like discuss the cats here. Discuss the books, which ones are your favourites, Te best characters, the best bits of lore and world building.

Here, I'll begin until the conversation:

What's the newest series like? I haven't read it because I'm too lazy to order them in, but I've heard that it's really good. I guess the Erin's have finally gotten their *** together and are writing quality stuff.

Or, if you're like me and haven't read the newest books:

Favourite character? Personally, my favourite is Dovewing. I love how her power in Oots actually harms her emotionally? She's just used for her hearing and not for her self? That makes her need for affection and validation with Tigerheart so much sadder rip

I stopped reading after the third series. My favorite was the first series and my favorite characters are cinderpelt and yellowfang.

I like watching and doing maps and there are tones of warriors maps.
Some animations I did:

Your animations are so nice! Your style is so nice!

The first series was pretty good. Not my favourite, but solid. Cinderpelt was such a sweetheart. It's a shame she died in the series. Very upsetting.

Oh man where to start... I LOVE Warrior Cats so much, it's ridiculous. I'm actually on the wcrp forum as well because I love it so much. I love reading the books, I love thinking about the characters, plot and WORLDBUILDING (like how they messed up their original working of StarClan and the Dark Forest). also shippings and AU

Also, I'm all caught up with the series, actually just finished reading River of Fire (5th AVOS book) a few days ago. As for AVOS, well, it's a mixed series. I love some parts of it, whilst others not so much, and opinions on the series seem to vary.

The first AVOS book was great - I loved it a LOT. The third book, which seems to be the majority's favourite, I actually didn't like that much myself because it went too fast, and no normal Clan routine (and though I know a lot of people find the routine boring, I enjoy reading about it.)
If you're planning on reading AVOS, I won't spoil anything but for the sake of your own enjoyment, I suggest reading Tigerheart's Shadow AFTER River of Fire (ROF being released two book earlier was NOT a good move on the publisher's part)

As for the characters in AVOS: the first book features only one POV, the others three. One of these I personally greatly dislike reading about, another has grown a bit stale and boring and the third is AMAZING and this character is now one of my new favs.

ALSO YES ANOTHER DOVEWING FAN!! She gets so much hate, it's ridiculous! I love her too and I actually love DoveTiger too (which is hated a lot as well I found out since joining wcrf...)

Ah! Yes! Another Warrior Cats fan!

The Erins may have messed up a lot wth inconsistencies, but I agree that their worldbuilding and the lore behind it is so good. Shippings and AUs are the best part of the series honestly lmao

I've actually read the first two AVOS books by now (in like two days. I hadn't read the books in like a year and I was so late but I impulsively bought them and loved them. Warriors is a blackhole fandom, I swear. Theres absolutely no way out). Please no spoilers! Australian bookstores are stupid and we haven't gotten the rest of the books yet :(

And Dovewing does not deserve all the hate she gets. She's a beautiful little soul and she is a queen. DoveTiger isn't my favourite ship, mainly because it was such a rollercoaster, but I honestly don't see why everyone hates it. It's a decent ship after all

Hey no worries I won't spoil a thing :) I get it too. The English books aren't readily available in bookstores here (The Dutch versions are but they're only up to Fading Echoes now) so I order my copies through a bookstore who have to get it from their English supplier and that sometimes takes a while too.
Are you reading the SEs too? Because they're actually relevant to AVOS now. After book 2 would be a good time to read Hawkwing's Journey (I loved that one btw) and Tigerheart's Shadow, well, like I said it was released after Shattered Sky but it really should have been released after River of Fire.
(TS gets a LOT of hate too yet I enjoyed it.)

DoveTiger isn't my absolute fav ship but I do love it and I actually enjoyed reading about it. It being a rollercoaster is definitely true tho^^ but not a lot of POV romances go particularly smooth. (they need the cat drama I suppose^^)
Besides, I really didn't like how Dovewing was pushed into a relationship with Bumblestripe by her Clan, to the point she even started pushing herself into it. I was not okay with that at all.

Warrior Cats is very addictive yes... I mean, the writing is obviously not even comparable with WSD or something but the world they created, the Clan traditions and Clan history, the characters, all of that is just so very fun to dive into and explore.

I would love to read the Special Editions, but unfortunately we don't get a lot of those either lmao

Discussing the DoveTiger ship, I quite like how it was handled, dare I say, realisticallly? Like, the inter-clan relationship was a bad thing, so Dovewing did try to make it work with Bumblestripe even if it didn't work. I thought that was a nice little edition, since all other relationships like that either finish "smoothly" (Bluestar and Oakheart) or really badly (Fallowtail and Reedfeather, or even worse, Mapleshade and Appledusk). It was a nice little change from their regular formula.

But yes, the world of Warriors is actually really immersive and I love it. If nothing else, we can praise it for the history and lore :)

Tbh I read the earlier SE on pdfs I got online but I bought them/plan to buy them afterwards sooo...

Here's a question: what's your favourite shipping (canon and/or not), if you have one?
(I say if you have one because I find it hard to pick an absolute favourite and it kinda seems to depend)

Also, have you gotten the chance to read the next AVOS book yet?

@CockatielPony Nice MAP parts! I admire animators in general but Warrior Cats animation hold a special place. I enjoy them a lot. :)

Ah, nice MAP part! I love your artwork! :)

Favourite? Oof, mine is sort of spilt between two. I really love Stormfur/Brook! I dunno, I think they're just super cute! And y'know, Stormfur lost his mother and his sister and his dad so I really think he should just be happy. And the Tribe cats are really cool and interesting, especially when Brook and Stormfur move to ThunderClan. I also really love Whitewing/Birchfall, mainly because Whitewing is such a sweetie.

What's your favourite? It's perfectly fine if you can't narrow it down though. That's relatable lmao

Yes! I have read Shattered Sky! I don't think it's my favourite AVOS book but it's close enough haha :D

I read two of the book some years back and wasn't too impressed by the writing style. I assume they improved with time, but not a book series for me, as much as I like cats. :)
Here lies a signature that has little point.

Remember a while back I bought a different copy if WSD thinking it was illustrated? That was not illustrated. Now please look at THIS

Not WSD but Warrior Cats. Left is the original  dutch version of Into the wild, right is the newly released illustrated version if the same book.

Awesome covers!

Any more illustrations inside?

I really need to read this series...

Oooh yes there are!

Now THIS is how I expect an illustrated version of a book to look like!
