Watership Down symposium
« on: April 29, 2018, 11:16:47 PM »
This year marks the 40th anniversay of the WD film's release.  To celebrate this, the University of Warwick is organizing an interdisciplinary symposium this November.

A call for papers is currently open, until the end of June.

... So it is! I need to do a picture to mark its 40th!

Don't think I'd be much help with writing a paper about it, though! Great idea for the uni to do this.

The date for this event has been set: 10 November.  It's possible to register online: https://watershipdown40.wordpress.com/registration/

I unfortunately won't be able to attend, since I don't live in the UK :(

Still do not invent doors with teleportation? That would be faster and cheaper to travel than with airplanes. So I could go to that WD bunny play.    :speaker-of-the-past     :spartina

Ah yes I saw this symposium being announced before when they were accepting talkers to sent in their topics and such. Distance-wise I could attend and I'd love to but it would be a trip that lasts more than one day and I simply can't go away the coming months.
A pity as judging from the programme it would be very interesting to attend. Especially the talk about Lapine and the one discussing death and mourning, but the rest seems interesting as well.

Now seeing what they've got lined up, I think it would be sooo worth going to. I was really tempted and thought I could maybe arrange to go, and then I checked my work schedule and I'm working that day. Really sad. :(
