Here is the account of first day of my summer break. I’m ashamed it took me so long to get around to writing this. Maybe we could all pretend there was no delay?

Anyway, we (meaning me, my mom and my dad) set out on 7th of September. We woke up around 4 A. M. and packed supplies and other things we wanted to take to Italy. That took us a bit longer than we had planned, but we eventually we were on our way. We spent the night and much of the morning driving through Czech Republic. Once in Austria, we stopped for a little breakfast on some parking by the highway.

We used the opportunity to feed horses, who were grazing beyond the fence. I bet this horse was thinking: “Mmm… I’ve always known that grass is better on that side of the fence.”

http://oi49.tinypic.com/e8ljrb.jpgWe were moving again, when we discovered that air conditioning in our car had stopped working for some reason. We tried to solve this problem, but without success. Finally, we decided to move on and look for an auto-repair shop along the way. Till then we had to drive with open windows in order to keep temperature inside on acceptable (low) level.
We reached Istria and let me tell you one thing. This is a really nice and beautiful place. Every little town or village is full of flowers and some of them actually won a prize or two for being “flower town”. Look at these pictures:

These photos are not the only ones we (mostly my dad) took on that day, but it would take awhile to upload them all. That’s why I could only show you a few chosen photos out of many. I hope it’s alright.
