Summer break
« on: September 01, 2012, 08:51:20 AM »
Hi. On 7-8 of September I'll travel to north Italy for a little family vacation and we will stay there till 16th. I might have some Internet connection there, but in case I won't you will know why I'm not visiting the forum in that time. And now you won't have to worry about when I'll be back to post. ;)

I'm back to my pre-vacation mode, which means I have to work from Monday to Friday, so it might take awhile to share how it all went. Of course I could just say "I was here and here and I had a very good time", but that would be a lazy way of describing my trip.

I think I'll describe my little vacation in few parts, so I could do it in more detail (and with a few photos perhaps). That way I won't be spending a lot of time at one go on preparing the whole story of my trip and you won't have to wait an eternity for it to appear. ;)

Here is the account of first day of my summer break. I’m ashamed it took me so long to get around to writing this. Maybe we could all pretend there was no delay? :)

Anyway, we (meaning me, my mom and my dad) set out on 7th of September. We woke up around 4 A. M. and packed supplies and other things we wanted to take to Italy. That took us a bit longer than we had planned, but we eventually we were on our way. We spent the night and much of the morning driving through Czech Republic. Once in Austria, we stopped for a little breakfast on some parking by the highway.

It’s me on the left and my mom on the right, while my dad is taking this photo. And yes. I’m still wearing my braces. It will take a while before I won’t be needing them.

We used the opportunity to feed horses, who were grazing beyond the fence. I bet this horse was thinking: “Mmm… I’ve always known that grass is better on that side of the fence.”

And here is my dad (on the left):

We were moving again, when we discovered that air conditioning in our car had stopped working for some reason. We tried to solve this problem, but without success. Finally, we decided to move on and look for an auto-repair shop along the way. Till then we had to drive with open windows in order to keep temperature inside on acceptable (low) level.

We reached Istria and let me tell you one thing. This is a really nice and beautiful place. Every little town or village is full of flowers and some of them actually won a prize or two for being “flower town”. Look at these pictures:

We ended that day of traveling and sightseeing by stopping in the motel, which was quite comfortable.

These photos are not the only ones we (mostly my dad) took on that day, but it would take awhile to upload them all. That’s why I could only show you a few chosen photos out of many. I hope it’s alright. :)

Ooh, wow you went to one REALLY nice place in Italy.  Its almost like I step into another dimension seeing photos like that....you wouldn't think you'd find such serene places like that on earth that still existed.

This is not Italy yet. It's only photos from the first day in Austria. :)
