Before I registered here, I was looking after an Watership Down forum, that deals with the tv series. When you look after Watership Down forums or websites, you will find generally two types of people:

1. People who liked the books and the movie, but hated the series
2. People who liked the series, but don't care about the books or the movie

Then I stumbled over Fiver's Honeycomb and the banner already told me that this is a place, where the tv series isn't totally accursed. Of course, I must say that I had the primary intention to promote my Watership Down website.

Then I see, that here are all kind of users: People who favorites the books, the movie or the series. More important: People with them you can talk without being offended, criticized or defamed for your favorite Watership Down adaption.

And then, there was a time, where I disappeared, even a time where I shut down my website. But after returning, all of you welcome my like nothing happened.

Did I really wrote all this text? :unsure

Anyway, the board celebrates it's 10 000 posts and here are my thoughts about the past two years that I'm part of this great community :)

Yes, you did, but don't worry about it. Writing more than a few sentences happens to most of us. Some even make a career out of it.

As one character of a great movie said: "That's our secret. Kill you with kindness." :D

Seriously though, it would be no good to make people feel terrible for being absent from the forum for some time. In the best-case scenario they would be active not because they like it here, but because they were guilt-tripped and they would treat this forum as a chore. In worst-case they would leave altogether. Besides... Everybody has their own life, which takes priority over FH, and that's something we all understand, I hope. ;)

I'm glad too, that we can talk about all aspects of Watership Down (and other things) without giving each other hell for daring to have different opinions.  :exactly

Hey, this past year I basically didn't show my face on a forum from late August to October.  Life happens.  Those that really want to come back always find their way back. :)

This is my first post in a loooong time. Years actually. My father passed away and I had a son last summer on top of all the schooling and work. I'm sure alot of you are also very busy. I still look at this forum and think it's a great place though. I have alot of love for animals and Watership Down. There's a local band called "Terminal Orchestra" here in Marquette MI that just made a Watership Down tribute album. It was very symphonic and sad. Hope to contibute more than a post or two this year.

My son Rowan we think of as a little fox. He's that guy that was out barking in the woods at night for so long before we decided to have a child. He sleeps with his little fox stuffed animal every night (he loves it) and we have rabbit and fox framed illustrations in his bedroom. Just wonderful.

That applies to me too. With [high]school, I kind of forgot about the Honeycomb when I was a sophomore(?) and now I'm a senior. I don't know what it was, but something reminded me of the forum.

Edit: Just went to my email and it was the email sent to all members recently that reminded me of the forum.
