Novel: Bigwig. He pretty much carried the weight of defending watership from efrafa

Film: Blackberry. I just like his character design and they able to show his intelligence

Series: Campion. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said.

I voted for Hazel, for the reasons I stated in other place on this forum.

Blackberry, for his intelligence - something he had in common with Fiver. Seriously, I think one could write some good fanfics with these two talking to each other; to compare their mindsets.

I voted for Dandelion, because a good storyteller is real treasure. ;)

I voted for Hawkbit, because I wanted to kowtow to Adam... I mean... because I like Hawkbit. He might not be the best fighter or the fastest runner, but he is a dependable fellow. In addition, in the series he is able to point out obvious flaws in plans, which can be quite handy at planing stage.

Other characters I would have voted for are:

Strawberry- Every TV series needs a comic relief :lol . He just made the episodes he was in, even The Easy Life, a bit funnier than they were during (or after) something serious happened. The scene where he got stuck under the tree and Hawkbit and Dandelion makes me laugh everything. I hoped that he would be in all of seasons one and two. Keehar wasn't as hilarious as Strawberry was to me (I found Keehar funnier in the movie than the tv series). Thought him being in Bigwig's Owsla and being from Cowslip's warren is ironic (he is the only rabbit from there that knows how to fight a weasel and win).

Corporal Moss- He's a lot like Campion in personality. I was hoping that he would have been in all of season three up to the season finale. One of the reasons I liked him was he was one of the two Efrafan Owsla that became good.

General Woundwort- Just because he is the main antagonist and his actor. He is one of the few antagonists in any series I have watched that I actually like. Most are just stupid or like every other antagonist, dies because of their stupidity in the end. Woundwort didn't die for this reason. He even makes Scarface from The Animals of Farthing Wood seem like a normal antagonist.

Hyzenthlay- Becuase of the role she had in the movie mostly. Not many lead female characters in movies or television series are like her (I'm referring to Primrose here under TV series, she was "dull" compared to Hyzenthlay). Though one think I would change about her is: giving her Fiver as a mate (thought that is who I think his mate is in the movie).

Hawkbit- Because of his sarcasm. The way he acted in Home on the Down, Lost and The Beginning of the End were just plain hilarious. I could imagine what his son(s) would be like if he and Clover did have children. :lol

Skree- He was just better than Keehar in season three. I hated Keehar's season three voice actor.

Bigwig- Because of how brave and serious he is. He's very close to being liked better than Campion (pre-episode 12). Some times him being just plain stubborn (like ine episodes two and three) makes me laugh. I also like him for his role in the movie (though he said "hraka" a lot in front of younger rabbits (Fiver and Pipkin) for some reason). Other than Campion and Hazel, no other characters stood up to Woundwort, and that is another reason that he is one of my favorite characters.

Hazel- He's just a good leader. I'm not really sure why I like him as a favorite character other than this.

Fiver- Not sure why at all, I just like him for his role I guess. I may edit my post later telling why when I think of it.

Dandelion- Because he is comic relief. The scene where he was being rained on and chased by the voles is always worth watching over and over. :lol

And I forgot to explain the characters I voted for.
Captain Campion -The reason I voted for him was that he, like Bigwig, wasn't afraid to stand up against Woundwort (something that he should have done in the movie). I never expected him to become a good character after watching the movie when I saw he was in the TV series. I seriously thought that he had died at the close of season two, and I nearly did tear up (I have a weakness to deaths of important characters, even seeing Silverweed at the end of season three somewhat does this). He also had a good voice actor. Another thing I liked about him was he was always threatening Vervain and that Vervain was afraid of him.

Clover -She may have been a supporting character in seasons one and two, but the role she had in seeason three (Hawkbit's mate) and the way she looked (more like a rabbit than in seasons one and two). Something I noticed and someone else pointed out about her was: she was seen near Blackavar at the end of season two with several kittens, which made me suspect that she had mated with him. I then found it strange that she did with Hawkbit in season three (this made me know that she wasn't Blackavar's mate, they must have been watching someone else's litter).

Buttercup -She just had a interesting role for only one apperance (being the lead female role in Winter on Watership Down I found it strange she appeared once). I actually wanted her to return in season three and maybe later in season two.

Blackberry (doe) -I preferred her over the Blackberry in the movie and books. She seemed smarter in the television series than in the movie. She thought of the wood trick quicker than she did in the movie in the first episode. Thought I have to be honest, I didn't know who she was until they mentioned her name. I thought she was a new character in the tv series and Hazel was Blackberry at first.

Strawberry in the series wasn't really comic relief...it was left to Dandelion and Hawkbit to get the laughs.  Yes, Strawberry made it a trio, but he was not the main goofball.

Strawberry's not a comic relief? Season one I can understand, he only appeared once where he was like Hawkbit or Dandelion, but in season 3, he was a lot of trouble to Bigwig and Hawkbit, which is one reason I called him that.

A comic relief is somebody (or something), who can make you laugh in dramatic and tense situations, to relieve that tension. I remember Hawkbit and Dandelion doing so a few times. On the other hand, the scenes where Strawberry was funny, were usually at the times of peace (IIRC), so I'm not sure that counts.

No Bluebell on that list.

I like Bluebell because he loyally helped Holly keep his sanity and was witness 1st hand to the atrocities suffered in their warren. He's an odd one, can't hold his tongue, but holds his own. He reminds me of the fool in King Lear.

I like Holly because hes walked the road of the high and proud who falls and becomes humble.

I like Keehar because he's strange, and monstrous in some ways. Yet he takes to the rabbits and becomes a critical friend.

I liked Blackavar and Hyzenthlay alot. Those rabbits in Woundwarts warren were all sad cases.

I liked Silverweed and Strawberry for much the same reasons. Richard Adams really made you feel for these characters despite their limited involvement or roles.

Hazel for his wisdom, patience, and his leadership

Fiver for his sensitivity

Clover just because she was a hutch rabbit ;-)

Dandelion for his story telling-I liked imagining all the rabbits gathered around listening intently to tales about life events.

As I decided not to read the original post, I voted for just one, Bigwig. Bigwig's one of the most distinctive-looking of the lot (if you need to do a WD fanart, just put fur on a rabbit's head) and he's a great character in the book.

At first my favorite character was Fiver because I liked his appearance on the DVD cover and he's the vulnerable neurotic sort. Kind of like Snitter in Plague Dogs (if Snitter was a rabbit I wouldn't be able to tell the difference). Maybe he provided drama in being the character most likely to break from all the trauma going around them.

I'm also very fond of Kehaar (in the film anyway) for his great comic relief and bird-like behavior. I'd love to hear how Zero Mostel managed to do the choking laugh thing when he said "Plenty good trick!". He's way too tame in the TV series, though it's cute how he says Hannah as Anya.

I like Blackberry in pretty much any incarnation. At first I favored his male self in the book/film, and probably still do, but I can't deny that the female self in the TV series is cute. That said, he's not really a "favorite" of mine even though the main cast is all high up there due to each one gaining the spotlight in the book.

Hyzenthlay's a popular favorite in the film, nearly pitch-perfect. And as she's just about the only female given screentime, I took notice. Like Fiver, she has hints of vulnerability, but can look after herself. To see her replaced by Primrose in the TV series was... ugh. I prefer Hazel and Hyzenthlay, not Hazel and Primrose.

Hannah gets a special mention because I love her odd accent. She's a bit hard to understand, but the way she says things is delightful. And being a mouse, she looks good too.

My favorite outside of the main characters is actually Blackavar. I'm not really sure why; I just always liked him. At first he seems pretty weak, getting ripped to shreds and all, but he really comes through and is brave, even if stupidly so in the movie. Plus he just looks cool. : )

As unoriginal as it might seem, I voted for Hazel and Fiver.

Fiver is my favourite from the series. He is an interesting character, a bit misunderstood at first, but quickly he grows to become a respected member of the warren. He comes up with many solutions to problems and helps Hazel with his leading. Also, he did save the lives of those who left Sandleford! Also, the seer thing is quie cool.

Hazel has many desirable character traits. He is a natural leader, an obvious choice for a Rah. He understands Fiver better than most others and sticks by him when the the others start turning on him. He takes on board the suggestions of all and tries to make every one of them feel valued (just look at how he treats Pipkin!). Sure, he has a few negative character traits, but I think they just develop his character more (he completely ignored Fiver when he was told to leave the Warren of Snares and not to go to the farm, for example).

I might not always post, but trust me- I'm often online.
