Hello friends!
« on: November 08, 2014, 03:27:16 PM »
Hi guys!

I just found about this show by total accident and I immediately fell in love with it. Do you know that feeling when you just KNOW something’s gonna be good? Well, that happened to me; I watched episode 1 just to «see what it was», and the very next thing I noticed was... that I saw the entire series (not joking here).

And was precisely that love what brought me here today (VERY glad to see an active community about it too :D).

Oh, and by the way... one thing thing I want to set perfectly clear now is that (although I'm considered to be good at it -even by my American and British friends alike-) English is NOT my first language. So, while I try my best to improve, you will probably be seeing some mistakes here and there. I'm sorry, but I will try to keep them at minimal.

Very nice to meet ya guys! I hope we get along!

I know how it is. Sometimes I come across some very interesting webcomic and this is what happens:

At first: "Hmm... this one looks nice. Let's give it a shot."

Later: "Wow! It's really good."

Much later: "Just... one... more... page..."

Much much later: "What...? This is all? Now I have to wait a few days for the next page? But I want it now!!!"

I exaggerate (a bit), of course, but when you like something very much, then you can read/watch the whole thing very quickly. ;)

Welcome Silverweed's Claws (well that is kind of cool having little nails prancing around the forum :p ).  Sorry I'm a tad, make that very late, on welcoming you.

Just thought of this....why Silverweed's Claws?  Why not Hazel's claws or Bigwig's claws?  Curious minds ask curious questions.

That's a perfectly valid question :)

Honestly, I was going to be "Silverweed" but the name was already taken, so I needed to think something up, and this sounded good for some reason. Plus, I like the idea of a character so pacific like this one actually having "claws".

Hazel, Bigwig, Woundwort... they are all right for me, but none of them really suits me. I'm more of a fan of semi-minor characters like Silverweed, Blackberry and Hannah (or minor characters persé like "The Speaker of the Past").

I'm glad you asked.

I can understand liking minor characters. One reason (I don't know if it is your reason) is that they don't get as much screen-time as main characters, so there is a lot more questions about them that we, as fans, can try to answer. TV-series doesn't tell us their story (or little of it), so we can do that for ourself, if only in our imagination. Unlike them, the main characters don't have much mystery to them left.

Yeah, that's it exactly :cheers

I guess that that's the thing that I like the most about this series: you have a handful of key characters and an entire world of secondary or low-tier characters to go along with them... and -unlike other series- they are interesting enough to really add to the show without "interrupting" or "distract" from the plot.
