So, what do you think of Hawkbit? At first, I thought he was kinda a jerk but after watching some episodes, I got some good laughs out of him. I find him adorable in his own special sort of way. Plus, I love his black fur, amber eyes and how it makes him stand out.

I think the Tvtropes term "Jerkass Woobie" describes Hawkbit very well after I saw the episode "Lost". He was really pushy and even shoved Fiver off a cliff but then he went into panic attack mode and I just wanted to hug him. He's one of those types of characters whose a negative, grouchy complainer and even a prick at times but as much as he deserves a good slap, he deserves a hug and a good cuddle just as much. Being somewhat of a Jerkass Woobie myself, I can kind of relate to him.

I find it odd that he's described as stupid in the book yet he seems fairly smart in the TV series.

I LOVE Hawkbit. He really manages to inject some reality into an otherwise fantastic environment. Nobody can be distracted from the dangers that surround the warren when he is around.

If there were no Hawkbit, it would be necessary to invent one :P

Yeah, I'm a little bummed out that he and Dandelion don't have official plushies like Hazel, Fiver and Bigwig. I don't think Blackberry has an official plush either but I could be wrong.

If there was a such thing as a Watership Down audio book as read by Hawkbit chock full of commentary, it could easily be one of the best Watership Down things ever.

In my opinion Hawkbit is more adorable than Fiver and Pipkin together. My favorite Watership Down. Only after perfect Silverweed. =3

I agree wholeheartedly. I mean look at this:

Who wouldn't hug him? :D

If I have a Hawkbit like rabbit, I'll put the same name. Would give hugs, candy and gifts just for being so adorable and I hope to be grumpy. =3

I have a "Hawkbit" side to me when I'm not in the mood for BS. ;)  Now you know why I picked him, and yeah for the sake of better google rankings I run "Fiver's Honeycomb".

I think he meant he has a personality that is similar to Hawkbit's and not that he has a live rabbit called Hawkbit. ;)

I do find it hard to warm to such angry, gruff-boots characters; however, Hawkbit does mellow somewhat in the process. The episode where he gets stuck in the caves below the Honeycomb (did that episode even exist? I can't remember whether I watched it, but I definitely had a book of it :p), he becomes a more considerate rabbit. Also his design is pretty cute and non-exaggerated like some of the others, so quite 'comfortable' on the eye, design-wise.
Here lies a signature that has little point.

I didn't wrote something to Hawkbit so far? Ehm, I mean, who has deleted my post?  :hawkbit

Yes, Hawkbit is great (the leader of the Honeycomb as well as the character in the series).

Honestly, without him, there would be a big hole in the series. He has myriads of great lines in the series and it's interesting, that for one thing he's blaming Fiver, otherwise he's jealous for his visionary abilities.

And even if he sometime seems to be anxiously, he's a loyal member of Watership Down.  :hawkbit3
