To be honest: I haven't much to say about this episode.

Luckily, Bark appears here and becomes a strong ally for Watership Down. The end of the episode, when the others try to save Fiver and she doesn't fight against them and wants to surrender while Fiver tries to stop his friends isn't bad.

But if that and the friendship/alliance between Bark and the rabbits wasn't part of the episode, it simply would've been another filler.

The Orchard... what a weak episode this is!

I honestly fail to see the whole appeal of the plot and I don't know if I'm going to watch it when I reach Season 2 on my re-watch of the entire series. I could easily put it alongside "The Invasion" as one of the weakest entries of the series as a whole.

You took the words right out of my mouth. But luckily, Bark has nice appearances in season 3. They make this episode not completely bad (because without this one, the others wouldn't work).

Oh yeah, I have nothing against Bark as a character (far from it, actually) but the way they handle her is REALLY weak. I mean, the whole point of her being useful later on is that Fiver is just too gentle to tell her to stay the heck away from him... what if it was Hazel in there? What if it was Bigwig (or heck, even Blackberry would have lead to a horrifyingly wrong result).

Maybe, it was Frith's great plan, that Fiver got kidnapped by Bark :)

(hey, in the third season, we're also talking about trails, we walked before and fate and events, that happen for a reason ;) )

But I fear, it was rather the story writer's great plan :p

I think that this episode was kind of a long-winded and pointless way of telling us that Bark is going to be a character involved in future events.

Well, we sure as heck know that not everything that happened on the show happened for a reason :P But I guess that it was Frith's plan all-along.

Let's leave it at that :P

All right episode. Pipkin is slightly frustrating not just shouting out what had happened when he got back, instead just leaving it all day. Pipkin should feel very fortunate indeed that Bark was a friendly badger.

THe way Bark holds up the apple to Fiver when he has said he's had enough was amusing. "Apple!"

I'm not too keen on the badger's design and her body seems quite squished with how she walks. They character designers just didn't put much in to the 'elil' characters... or quite a few other animals that feature, really.

 :bark - "I'll be Bark!" ...
Here lies a signature that has little point.

It's not one of the best episodes in the series because it's filler, but it's one of my favorites because they do something "fun". Out of the ordinary, because rabbits go to the apple orchard. Something different instead of just worries, and for me it is a pleasure the relationship between Fiver and Bark, because this started in the most unexpected and uncomfortable way, for me these scenes were very funny.
I never get tired of seeing this beautiful series x3
