Man, I can't remember the amount of times I said I was going to watch this movie after I heard it lumped into the same category as Plague Dogs and Watership Down. I just never got around to it. Then I read the Unshaved Mouse's review of it (this guy's hilarious) and I finally watched it on Youtube.

I really don't know what to think. I liked it, or I didn't dislike it at the very least. But . . . yeah I just don't know what to think about it.

Well, I really enjoyed the Felidae-movie. Definitely not for children (still less than Watership Down).

After reading the book, I can say: Except for two dream sequences, nearly everything was in the movie. Even the dialogues has been inherited virtually one-on-one (at least in German).

It has a great story (that's not so predictable). It has a great style. And it's dark and brutal (and yes, for a animated movie, that could be an asset).

Kneel down before the greatness of Darkling's dark ... ... ... Darkness!!!

Felidae is a weird animal.  Its dark and broody, and definitely not for kids.  Its a murder mystery with a bit of animal activism thrown in.  I like it as a curiosity piece, but its not one that I'd recommend friends to watch.  If I had that choice, it goes to Plague Dogs....that one hits much harder to reality if you want to tug at heartstrings.
