[Song Discussion] Bright Eyes
« on: November 06, 2015, 08:14:17 PM »
(Reviewed by Darkling Nocturnal on The High Lonely Hills).

A modern interpretation, sung originally by Art Garfunkel. This time, Stephen Gately (who died 2009) take the microphone. The song fits very good into the series and cut a fanntastic figure with it's modern arrangement.

Thanks to Mike Batt, the known classical melodies and instruments preserves. If you ask me, which version I prefer, I only can say: Both sounds fantastic in their ways. Art Garfunkels version fits better to the movie and Stephen Gatelys interpretation to the series.

4/4

Review by Hawkbit, founder of Fiver's Honeycomb:

2 – Bright Eyes (Vocal - Stephen Gately) : Gately’s version of Bright Eyes is refreshing when you consider it’s a pop version of the song in line with Garfunkel’s earlier take on the same song. This version uses a more upbeat tempo and it lacks the sadness of the version found on the original soundtrack CD. An edited version of this song played over the credits of season one episodes.

I wholeheartedly agree.
I second that.

I mean, I'm definitely NO Boyzone fan :D and he's voice acting was awkward. But his interpretation fits perfect to the series and simply is a great new interpretation of the original song.

Kneel down before the greatness of Darkling's dark ... ... ... Darkness!!!
