Now, we have an interesting case in our hands! Those three are directly responsible for bringing Skree to Watership Down (well, as an ally anyway) but NONE OF THE SITES THAT I HAVE VISITED (including Wikias and the like) seem to have bothered to even acknowledge their existence (and if they did, it was only for a few sentences). I found this amazing, since they were supposed to be a great thing on paper, giving Pipkin the chance to prove himself as a capable Owsla Captain and performing great at that task, for what I remember (not to mention, being the first kitties to be born at Watership Down).

But honestly, even finding images for them is hard without having to jump directly into the series (and most of them are painfully LQ too) which only adds to the surprise factor when you realize that even the most uninteresting characters get wallpapers and drawings dedicated to them.

The cherry on top comes from a different source, though: when you visit the official Wikipedia pages for the series, these characters are not only briefly mentioned on Primrose's profile, but also written out of the entire thing, not being mentioned even as a side-note nor on the plot-summary for the episode in which they found Skree.

So, since my second watch of the series is going incredibly slow (only five episodes in, due to me being incredibly busy) I'm gonna ask: since when did they appear? In which episode? Have they done any other remarkable thing before or after the hawk thingie? Do you like them? :mallow  :snowdrop  :gilia

:snowdrop  :mallow first appear in The Orchard, but they're not the right colour.  They just play weasel or something like that.

In season 3, their only major contribution is Skree.  Apart from that, most of what they do is attacking :bigwig :hazel :fiver :hawkbit and maybe others as part of owsla training.  There is a scene in which they encounter :campion2  an patrol and think he is  :inle-series .  During the final battle, they talk with :pipkin about how they should feel sorry for :woundwort .  I can't remember them doing anything else.  It would have been nice if they had more character development.

Yes. those three could have more character development. Despite, their roles where important in the series (without them, no Skree, without Skree, no rescue of Campion, without Campion, no Black Rabbit of Inlé saluting Woundwort :inle-series ).

Do you think that they have chances to appear on the soon-to-be-released TV Series?

I don't think so. Mallow could appear as part of the Efrafan Owsla.

Wait, I'm confused now... why would he be anywhere near Efrafa? (don't tell me that this is one of the things that are covered on the second book).

(MAN, it is absolutely fantastic to have a place to talk about this series. Freaking Honeycomb, why do I love it so much? :D).

Mallow appeared in the book. He got killed by the fox, that chased Bigwig, IIRC.

I thought, you've already read the first book.

Haha, don't worry!

And yeah, I have read the book :) It is "Tales from Watership Down" the one I haven't read.

By the way... I do remember a Captain Mallow from Efrafa, now that I think about it. Weird.

I think Primrose's and Hazel's kitten showed up for the first time in episode called "A tale of A Mouse". You know, the one after episode ending with Hazel boasting he is going to be a father. They didn't get their names or unique fur colors at the time though. :)

Junior Owsla also stole a pebble guarded by Fiver, Dandelion, Strawberry and Hawkbit, and in doing so they completed Hazel's challenge allowing them to go on solo patrol.
